Crew Practices | Open Practices | Steer Training
Individuals that were previously certified to steer OC-6 canoes with OutriggerSports are deemed certified to steer for DragonSports.
DragonSports provides both land and on-water training to interested members throughout the year. Are you interested in learning to steer the outrigger canoes? Attend one classroom session (1.5 hrs) and as many on-water practice sessions as you need. Pass the written and on-water tests at the end of your training, and you will be certified to steer the outrigger canoes for your crew or open practices.
Next classroom session: TO BE ANNOUNCED. A one time-payment of $20 is required to begin the course--please bring a check with you to the classroom session or pay in advance using PayPal.

To maintain certification, all DragonSports steers must complete a huli recovery drill annually. Opportunities to participate in group drills will be emailed to qualifying individuals each summer.
