Join DragonSports USA
for the Second Annual Race at our New Location!
Tom McCall Waterfront Park
is located in the heart of Portland, Oregon close to hotels, shopping
and restaruants.
We have many exciting things in store
for everyone! DragonSports USA is planning a multitude of events
including: Beer Garden, Food Vendors, Entertainment,
and a Paddlers Party on Saturday Night! Bring your dancing
shoes!!!
Two days of 250m, 500m racing in Hong
Kong-style Dragon Boats will be capped off with a single long
distance race for qualifying teams!!!
Bracketing will be set up to guarantee that
each team has at least four races.
There will be five divisions:
- Mixed
- Womens
- High School
- Masters Mixed (40+) (if there is enough
interest)
- Grand Masters Mixed (50+) (if there is
enough interest)
- All Cancer Survivors
- Corporate Cup
(note that a minimum of three registered
teams are need for each division)

Race Information:
- Early Bird Special if Registration Packet
postmarked by July 15th, 2008:
Local Teams $650.00, Visiting Teams $550.00
and High School $300.00
- After July 15th Race Fees:
Local Teams $750.00, Visiting Teams $650.00
and High School $400.00
- Teams are encouraged to register before
September 1st so as to facilitate bracketing.
- Race fee minus $50 is refundable until
August 15th, one half fee thereafter.
- Teams must fill out and submit an application
form by mail.
- Local teams must submit rosters and signed
waivers not later than September 1, 2008.
- Out of town teams must submit rosters
and signed waivers not later than 4 p.m. on Friday, September
5, 2008.
- There is a 80 team limit in order to have
the races completed in a timely manner.
- Book practice times with Ayla Montgomery-Kraly

for $22.00 per hour. Your team may book up to three practices
without team members being required to join Dragonsports
USA.
- Out of town teams may have a one-hour
free practice session on Friday, September 5 between the hours
of 2:00 and 6:00 p.m. All practices must be completed by 6:00
p.m. sharp. To schedule a practice session, out of town teams
only should contact Ayla Montgomery-Kraly at Ayla_Paddles@Yahoo.com

- Each local team must supply two
volunteers for the race (1/2 day each).
- Life vests and paddles will be supplied.
Paddlers may use their own USCG approved life vests and their
own Grey Owl paddles or other IDBF Spec 202 or 202a paddles.
- Tents will be provided for ALL Teams.
