With no end in sight for the toxic algae bloom, the organizers of this year's Row for the Cure have canceled Sunday's on-the-water portion of the event. As this is primarily a charitable event, all participants, supporters and volunteers are still encouraged to show up at the Portland Boat House for brunch from 10:00 to 11:30a.m. They could use your support now more than ever!
A blue green algae bloom in the Willamette River was confirmed to be toxic Friday, September, 19, 2014. The no contact advisory includes the stretch of the river from Ross Island to Sauvie Island.
The Oregon Health Authority news release can be found here. Information about algae blooms statewide can be found here.
All practices are canceled until further notice. For those teams who are on the schedule, we will credit you for your missed practices. If you have any questions, please contact email@example.com.
